This early?

After two weeks of preschool and then a week off being sick, at the prospect of going back tomorrow, Rachel told me "I don't want to go to school."

I know she can't really mean it, she loves school and there's even a field trip tomorrow.

....

A few other recent quotes...

After we asked her a question, she responded "I already told you." (Instead of "because" we've been using "I believe I've already answered that." and amazing how quickly she's thrown it back at us.

After her mom got out of the car to drop something off while we stayed in the car... "Well, I guess it's just the two of us now."

Playtime with Grayson

Rich, Christi and Grayson stopped by the house this afternoon. We had a wonderful time, especially Rachel and Grayson. To see them play together was really neat and made us so that it'll be so long before Rachel gets to play with her brother like that and I wonder if the magic of the age will be lost, if Rachel will be "too grown-up" to give in to that kind of silly nonsense. Grayson's sibling is due a week before Rachel's. We won't see R, S and G again until September, but it was a nice chance to catch up today.

Dream Realized

Well, the little one started school this week. She's been begging for what seems like years to be allowed to go to school. We suspect it has to do with going to daycare as a baby, that she missed that daily interaction with the other kids.

(Ironically, she recently announced she didn't like the bigger kid's class at church and wanted to go back to the babies' room where she could play without having a lesson or being told to sit down or anything.)

But, she was happy to go to school this week, her teacher is in our small group and said that she did quite well and she's excited to go back tomorrow.
